Bootstrap, a front-end framework, was released back in 2011. Since then, the framework has transcended the idea of building websites using a pre-built component structure. And while Bootstrap still dominates the market, frameworks like Tailwind CSS are giving it a run for its money.

One of the key reasons why people love working with Bootstrap themes is because they’re visually pleasing and quite simple to configure. In fact, the aspect of familiarity also comes into play. If your website is using a Bootstrap-based design; there’s a good chance people will naturally know how to navigate your site because the visual appearance of the website elements is already familiar.

These days, modern WordPress themes in categories like beauty, eCommerce, and travel are all built using a custom style guide. So, not necessarily with Bootstrap. Aside from having an awesome blog full of useful content, Colorlib also designs themes. This is quite an impressive and unique theme. It’s well suited for any type of creative website or blog. You can use it for business too. It comes with a full set of features, including a shopping cart.

With WooCommerce compatibility and a robust theme options panel, Sparkling comes with many more features than you’d expect for a free theme. There are all also numerous shortcodes integrated that you can use to build pages.

JupiterX Lite

The Jupiter X theme combines two separate site management options: the WordPress Customizer for changing site settings. And the Elementor website builder lets you change every inch of your design with a style that you prefer.

But even then, I think the provided demos are sufficient enough to get you started. Interestingly, if you do decide to go the WooCommerce route with this theme – Jupiter X has a lot of options that let you edit/design the look of your product pages, etc.

Awaken

Awaken is a Bootstrap theme that’s going to work great if you use it for a blog or a magazine website. The clean grid-based structure is going to make it easier for you to present multiple categories at once. Thus, making it more accessible for your readers to find either your newest or your best content.

The design is kept relatively simple if we look at it overall. In a lot of cases, this will help you focus a lot more on writing rather than worrying that something is out of order.

Corlate

Corlate is a multi-purpose Bootstrap theme that will be quite easy to adapt to a specific project’s needs. It could be that you need to build a landing page or a personal portfolio. But just as well, this theme will work for blogs and magazine sites. Because the Corlate theme uses WP Page Builder – you’ll have the option to switch things up in real-time.

Futurio

The Futurio theme is a versatile yet cleanly optimized WordPress theme based on the Bootstrap design system. Out of the box, you’ll have the option to pick and choose from over 10 unique demo layouts. And many of those layouts are also intended to be used for eCommerce sites. Once you decide on the layout, just click on the “Import” button and it will be done in a single click.

As you can see in the screenshot above, the theme boasts some modern design elements like waves, but also page transitions, and more. This is due to the fact that Futurio uses the Elementor plugin for its back-end. So, everything you get in Elementor – you’ll also get in this theme.

Vega

In all fairness, this is quite a dated theme. It hasn’t seen many updates in recent years, but over 4,000 WordPress sites still use it. And, if we take a look at the demo – it manages to capture those modern features, too. In particular, you’ll like the smooth scrolling effect which is ideal to reflect a more professional feel for your site. And, it’s based entirely on Bootstrap.

Summary

When the price is free, well, it’s pointless to ask for more. I do think these themes fit their purpose very well, particularly if you’re looking to create a simple website/blog.
